Google Business Profile Guidelines 2023

GOOGLE BUINESS PROFILE GUIDLINES

Article by Google Ranking Expert

Google Business Profile is a free tool that allows businesses to manage their online presence across Google, including Search and Maps. To maintain a high-quality experience for users, Google has established guidelines for businesses to follow when creating and updating their business profiles. Some of these guidelines include:

Accurate and up-to-date information: Businesses must provide accurate and complete information about their business, including name, address, and phone number.

Business category: Businesses must choose a relevant category that accurately describes their business type.

No promotional or misleading content: Businesses must not include promotional or misleading content, such as special offers, in their business name, description or photos.

No fake or duplicate listings: Each business should have only one Google My Business listing, and businesses must not create fake or duplicate listings for the same business.

No impersonation: Businesses must not impersonate other businesses, individuals, or organizations.

It is important to note that businesses that violate these guidelines may be subject to penalties, including having their Google My Business listing suspended or removed.
